Okay, some explanation required. There were some girls from Chicago at the surf camp and one night we were talking about how we felt like we were mentally handicapped when people spoke to us in Spanish. Rochelle said on her first day here, one of the guys said "Caballo" (pointing out a horse) but she thought he said "How are you?" so she said, well, you can see the response above. The guy just looked at her like she was retarded.

Many athletes in Canada hold dual citizenships and have competed for other countries. The most recent one I can think of is Dale Begg-Smith, who won gold for Australia at the last winter Olympics in men's moguls. Dale, who was born in Canada and holds dual citizenship, started skiing in Canada but found the training program too restrictive. He moved to Australia where he was given more latitude to focus on his business interests. Ironically, his win bumped Canadian Marc-Andre Moreau down to 4th place and off of the podium.
Anyway, switching allegiance is done for any number of reasons. Often, athletes who don't qualify for the Canadian national team have the opportunity to compete at a higher level by joining a program with less depth. There's certainly no malice intent here but when I heard that Duke was considering this option how could I not picture this movie...

His portfolio is building nicely don't you think? Chris' modelling career has taken off...
in a completely unexpected direction. Sorry Chris, I know I said I'd run it by you first but seriously, not many guys could pull off this little ensemble in quite the way you have...from now on I'm calling you 'the pretty one'.

K.C. is taking Timbersports at Lakehead

I heard about the timbersports - I'm so jealous (plus a little bit afraid). Are you going to be running around flinging hatchets at people? Are you growing a beard and wearing plaid all the time???

i think i can totally see myself in the woods being a crazy axe lady who loves to chop down trees with a beard
Okay, so I took some license with the idea but it works. I did a version where their faces were sepia-toned but it washed them out to the point of being unrecognizable. More better good stuff soon.
